I gave away a max dmg gold modded sword. This act of philanthropy gave me a nice feeling for about fifteen seconds... up until the sword's recipient accidentally pm'd me with an offer to sell it for 10k... Well, no expectations; no disappointments I suppose... I pm'd him back to use the trade channel.

I don't give money to people that just flat out ask for it. They're lazy and why should I help that. Now, when I see low levels selling low level equip for like 45g trying to build up a bank account, I'll swoop in and buy it for a couple thousand usually as they worked for the item and it gets them by surprise.

I usually will give away 1K when I can afford to.

I'll go into some random city and act like a total newbie, if anyone can help me without acting like a jackass, I give it to them.

When I go on farming runs and come back with a bunch of crap, I pull the generic "if you can find me, I'll give you free stuff" routine. Sad part is, I've had people come up and look at the stuff... and decline the offer. WTF? It's free stuff! If you're going to go through the effort to play the game, why not take the prize?

Or there's that one where I tell a bad joke (a la The Mad King), and the first person to type the "/laugh" emote gets a prize. Just for giggles.

That's right, I make people work for their free stuff.

Early this morning i saw someone trying to charge a n00b 10k for a +27 energy -1 regen focus, i whispered the n00b asking what attribute he wanted it in, i then went on what can only be considered genoside(sp?) farming run to get items for the collector in the desert, 20 minutes later i delivered the focus to the n00b for free.

my good deed for the day.

I give away imperfect upgrades all the time these days. It's just better to give them to a lowbie who will use them than it is to sell for 25g to the merchant.
